Mark Tulloch from Vancover wins the Hang Gliding Race and Claudio Mota from Victoria wins the Paragliding Race!
Congratulations to Mark and Claudio for completing the Lumby Air Race turn points Sunday June 15th to make the competition valid. $1000.00 cash was spit between two of the best pilots in Canada for their patience, good judgements, skills and efforts! Claudio also picked up $50.00 for PG spot landing as did Richard Bruneau and Stew Trowsdale picked up $100.00 for HG spot landing.
Though only 1 official race round was completed, many flights were flown from Saddle and a few from Coopers to keep the action going. Moist unstable weather with a strong westerly flow forced us to use Saddle Mountain launch for the entire 3 day competition. Mark raced the required minimum 3 laps around the 2 Saddle Mountain Turn points (10k) in 21 minutes and then completed a 10k FAI triangle in 21 minutes to finish his race scoring 26.66 points. http://www.paraglidingforum.com/leonardo/flight/937231
Claudio completed the required minimum 2 laps on Saddle and then went to work on his FAI triangle as well scoring 25.55 points. http://www.paraglidingforum.com/leonardo/flight/937235
